Privacy policy

Last updated October 5, 2026

BowlRadar collects as little as it can. You can search and read every event without an account, and we don't use advertising or third-party analytics trackers.

If you create an account

We store your email address, first and last name, and home ZIP code, plus the events you mark Interested, Going or Not going, the comments you post, and when you signed up and last signed in. We use them to sign you in, to show your events, and to start drive-time estimates from your ZIP. We don't sell or share them.

Other families see only this: how many families are interested in or going to an event (anyone can see the count), and, if they're signed in, your first name and last initial on events you're going to and on your comments. You can hide your name from My account and still be counted. If you say which division you're entering, families see only how many are going in each division, never who. Comment text is public. Your email address, last name, ZIP, and “Not going” answers are never shown to other families.

You must be 18 or older to create an account; accounts are for parents, guardians, coaches and other adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 through an account; if you believe a child has created one, let us know and we'll delete it.

Signing in

We email you a single-use link instead of using a password. We keep a record of each link we send (the email address, when it was sent and whether it was used) to prevent abuse. To limit repeated requests from one network we store a one-way, salted hash of your IP address with that record, never the address itself.

The sign-up form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots. It may process your IP address and browser characteristics under Cloudflare's Turnstile privacy terms.

Email alerts and event submissions

If you sign up for email alerts, we store your email address and the search you saved, and send you matching events until you unsubscribe from the link in any alert. If you send us an event or a correction, we store what you submit, including the name, email and role you give, so a moderator can review it and follow up.

How far from home

When you enter an address or ZIP to see a drive time, it's used once to find its coordinates and is not stored on our servers. The result is remembered only in your own browser, so other event pages can show the distance; “Forget” clears it. “Use my location” asks your browser for permission and never sends your location to us.

Counting visits to entry pages

When you follow an event's “Entry information” link, we count the visit so organizers can see how many people BowlRadar sends them. We record which event, your state and a rough distance band (both from Cloudflare's approximate location for your connection), and whether the visit looked automated. To count a double-click once, we use a one-way hash of your connection details that changes every hour and can't be turned back into them. We don't store your IP address.

Cookies and browser storage

We set one cookie, and only when you're signed in: it keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. Your browser's local storage holds your light or dark theme choice and, if you use it, your home location for drive times. None of these track you across other sites.

Who processes data for us

  • Cloudflare hosts the site and its database and provides Turnstile.
  • Resend sends our emails: sign-in links and alerts.
  • Addresses you type for drive times are looked up with the US Census Bureau's geocoder. A ZIP code is matched against our own table, or, for a ZIP we haven't seen, looked up with the free Zippopotam.us service; only the ZIP is sent.

Your choices

You can edit your name and ZIP or delete your account at any time from My account; deleting it removes your profile, your events and your comments. Unsubscribe from alerts with the link in any alert. For anything else, including a request to see or remove information about you, contact us through the correction form.

Changes

If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
